Congrats to him BigGrin That's the 3rd straight first place in open software by an AXIS Core member Smile
As expected, he'll be here in a few hours and make excuses again... ignore them Tongue

That takes the over all tally in open software competitions to
1) SaM = 2x1st place
1) stridy = 2x1st place
3) anna = 2x1st place
4) JA = 1x3rd place

Hmm pretty nice, I'd say Smile I wish I was there to take victory pics of anna and *ahem* BigGrin

Good luck to him in the WebApps event he's taking part in tomorrow Smile

JA you beat me to making the thread ..  Frown/Sad  Tongue
Congrats to anna and his team !! Yippee!!  Yippee!! BigGrin They had a great idea in MUSIK..an innovative app like that would be really useful in many places. They presented it very well too.. They had everything logically lined up, very well planned and implemented. Had an upper hand over the others in many ways... They had to skip quite a bit of the ppt but all in all it was a perfect presentation..

Waiting to hear more from anna...

I really wished i had taken some pics of the winning team ..i didnt have a digicam but i could have taken some on the cell, but it didnt strike me then (dumb of me  Tongue)

Good luck for tomorrow and hope you win again...

Greetings!

Life is good at the moment...

Well the event was okay... the presentations were fast... the prizes were faster... and the competition silly....

Thank you Rupal for supporting me and being there in our team's victory. It would have been very very dull if you hadn't come... your presence made it very memorable...although the final verdict wasn't a surprise...

Our entry, MUSIK was built using Visual C# 2008 express edition... (yes we used XAML) and when you compare it to the other entries it looked a little better...importantly, the event was judged by my college teachers (one of them being my project guide)...(skeptics take note now)

BUT NO BIG GUN PARTICIPATED.... and that really removes the sheen from the win...it would have been nice to see how we would have fared against better competition...

I feel that sometimes success can inflate your head... and people with inflated heads have higher centers of gravity... making them vulnerable to g-forces...

Hence this victory of ours is  just a footnote in the last testament to the legacy of our great institution... an institution that produces gems which act pricey but loses the good ones even faster - a sad sign of inevitable doom...

Anyways...it was fun to participate and win...once again thank you Rupal for making my day...

Anna

PS: Sorry I didn't allow you to make the post earlier... I guess I'm just an old softy... I was too high on the win to keep my mouth shut... but your presence was more uplifting than a post could ever be...

Anna

That's.. just wrong Frown/Sad G-Forces is a measurement of the acceleration of a body in terms of (multiples of) 'g' (constant of acceleration due to gravity; ~9.81)
What you should have said was that it makes them more prone to tipping over Tongue
Its said that the bigger you are, the harder you fall.. I guess the same goes for your head Tongue

Being "too high on the win" of an event which was "okay" and a bit "silly"? This on top of you telling me you were more or less reactionless after the win!
Contradictory much?
minus one cookie point for lying to me Cry

Cheers and congrats again on the win Smile

anna's project. I'd tell you the full form but I don't really remember it. He'd tell you the full form but he's busy with college.
The others.. well I think everyone else is dead. I'd say there might have been a nuke explosion in Navi Mumbai because I haven't heard from anyone in that area.. but I travel to Kharghar so I know that's not true.. Tongue
College, I guess Frown/Sad

Greetings after a really long while...

MUSIK - stands for Multi User Shopping Information Kiosk - it uses the Microsoft multipoint SDK to enable multiple shoppers (end users)  to browse the various catalogs of vendors, food outlets, multiplexes, in a modern day shopping mall...

MUSIK is visualized as a large projected screen getting a feed from an administrator's computer - which has many mouse devices connected to it.

Many shoppers can simultaneously access different catalogs from the main page divided into two split screens reducing queue length by half and also simultaneously navigate along the mall map to get relevant information - extracted from the application's database (like movie info, shop info and so on...)...nothing much a small app by a small man...

Sorry I took so long to reply... lot of 'paper' pressure - tests, assignments, write-ups - making life difficult...

Thanks whihathac ...hope you are enjoying yourself at Microsoft!

About the others - well they have more important matters to attend to, I guess...hence no activity on the forum...

Hoping to hear from all again,

Anna

I was not being sarcastic... I know that they DO have more important things to do... well at least SaM does...

Who in heavens' name is a brooding jew? If you are playing the brooding jew, then who plays the hopeless Palestinian?

Too many misunderstandings and doubts....please clarify...

Keep spamming,

Anna

Make sure you talk to the casting director and get a hot chick to play the hopeless Palestinian Tongue

Further queries shall be attended to on request.
Your's truly,
